National Rescue Education

Background

To improve the disaster response capabilities of local governments, we assign provincial rescuers to offer special rescue education courses where training in rescue techniques is provided. We open disaster-specific training facilities year-round to accommodate all the participants.

Main Contents

Operation of the courses for Special rescue
  • - Courses: 8, including one on winter water rescue
  • - Target: Fire headquarters in local governments, and emergent rescue institutions

  • - Facilities: 5, including a general training tower
    ※ Needed previous negotiation with Administrative Support Team due to training and/or education, despite always being open in principle
  • - We provide active personnel and equipment support (mountain, water, urban search & rescue area) for the rescuers in local governments when requested.

01 Winter water rescue

  • · To enhance one’s theoretical knowledge of highly difficult water rescue techniques of saving people in waterside areas in winter
  • · To enhance one’s skills at responding and at manipulating water rescue equipment when confronted with various water disaster situations, such as searching for victims in and pulling out cars from ice

02 NBC terror response

03 Special air rescue

04 Mountain rescue

  • · To enhance one’s ability to accommodate in various cases, in response to accidents

05 Search and rescue management for aircraft

  • · To learn to negotiate deployment coordination with the response team and related institutions in aircraft accidents

06 Special training for water rescue

  • · To learn how to use special water rescue equipment and how to carry out special rescue techniques

07 Urban search and rescue
