Since the 911 terror incident in the United States, every year, over 500 cases of various terror incidents have been reported by the media. Due to the industry advancements and the increased usage of harmful chemical and radioactive materials, the risk of the occurrence of CBR accidents or terror is increasing. To respond to this kind of accident, we at National 119 Rescue Service (NRS) are operating 119-CBR Response Team, which consists of rescuers who have special skills and knowledge in chemistry, biology, and radiology. We took part in international events such as 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, 2003 Daegu Universaid, 2005 Pusan APEC, and 2007 FIFA World Youth Championship, and have successfully undertaken preventive activities.
